Where is Aibhe.....her Aussie Kindy Christmas
No chance seeing her in this one, but a general idea of the outdoor style party for the kids
If that chick in the black didn't get in my way.... Aibhe and her mate are wearing white
Her favourite tune, Aussie Santa. Watch the kid that moves from Santa's legs halfway through

From rain and descending winter
OK. So the jet lag coming back was a little more difficult to get over. We tried hard to get into the time zones on the flight, and Aibhe was an absolute trooper flying, but we still had a few nights waking at 2am wide awake, like the proverbial Billy Connolly piece (live at the Albert Hall, highly recommended). I basically had 4 days of 3-4 hours sleeping bursts at best. Still, can't complain - nothing like the nightmare that was Emma the last time we came home from Ireland. Nothing a few good coffees and some red wine couldn't fix.
I believe it rained since I left. Not what I wanted to leave behind, as really, we had a wonderful time and thanks to all who made the effort to see us. And sorry to those I missed, the last few days were just a bit mental. The purpose of the trip, a surprise for Dad's 70th, was accomplished with great success. Shame he had to go and almost catch pneumonia after the event! Touch wood all good now.
Summer has well and truly kicked in over here, and thankfully, the house excavations have begun in earnest. Amazing how much of a mess they can make in the space of just a few days. Pictures below. It does get somewhat exciting when we get to this point, though am sure that excitement will dissipate a little when the cheques start being written.
And the arrival of summer means lots of swimming again. Kids have just leapt to another level completely in terms of ability and confidence in the pool in an amazingly short timeframe. We'll be using and abusing Barbie & Geoffie's pool this summer in the absence of our own. Though there will be a hole in the ground on the land representing the pool spot at some point soon I believe.
Also picked up our new 'family' car at the weekend. Hyundai ix 35, Elite. Nice little thing. Looks a lot like the far more expensive and upmarket Lexus 4 WD so am calling it the poor man's Lexus. Now to flog the old jammer and put all that cash into the house building money pit.

P.S. Lyn - baby?
